Sushi Go!

Overview

Sushi Go! is a quick pick-and-pass card game played over 3 rounds. Each round, players simultaneously choose cards from their hands, reveal them, then pass the remaining cards to the left. Players aim to collect the best combination of sushi dishes for maximum points. After 3 rounds of card drafting and scoring, the player with the most points wins.

Components

Cards (108 total)

Card Quantity
Tempura 14
Sashimi 14
Dumpling 14
Maki Rolls (various) 26
Nigiri (Salmon) 10
Nigiri (Squid) 5
Nigiri (Egg) 5
Pudding 10
Wasabi 6
Chopsticks 4

Setup

  1. Shuffle all 108 cards together.
  2. Deal cards based on player count:
    • 2 players: 10 cards each
    • 3 players: 9 cards each
    • 4 players: 8 cards each
    • 5 players: 7 cards each
  3. Players hold their hands secretly.
  4. Designate a scorekeeper.

Turn Structure

Each round proceeds as follows:

  1. All players simultaneously choose 1 card from their hand and place it face-down.
  2. All players reveal their chosen cards simultaneously.
  3. Players pass their remaining hand face-down to the player on their left.
  4. Pick up the new hand and repeat.
  5. Continue until all cards have been played (the final card is placed automatically).
  6. Score the round.
  7. Discard all cards except Pudding (keep face-up in front of you).
  8. Shuffle and re-deal for the next round.

Actions

Standard Turn: Choose 1 card from your hand to keep.

Wasabi Combo: If you play a Nigiri card and already have an uncovered Wasabi card in front of you, place the Nigiri on top of the Wasabi. This triples the Nigiri’s point value.

Chopsticks: If you have a Chopsticks card in front of you, on a future turn you may take 2 cards instead of 1. Choose your first card as usual, then before everyone reveals, call out “Sushi Go!” and take a second card. Place the Chopsticks card back into the hand you are passing.
