Overview

Ringel-Rangel is a dexterity game published by Ravensburger featuring a completely wooden game board depicting a garden with six colored rings. Players use wooden turtle pieces to push multi-colored balls with rings on them to their correct positions. The player who successfully completes the most ring placements wins.

Components

Setup

  1. Place the wooden game board in the center of the table.
  2. Insert the three branches into their holes on the board.
  3. Each player chooses a ball color to play.
  4. Mix all the balls and distribute them evenly on the game board.
  5. Place the turtle pieces in their starting piles at the edge of the board.

Turn Structure

On each turn, a player:

  1. Selects one of the two available turtle pieces from the separate piles.
  2. Places the chosen turtle on the edge of the playing field at a colored starting point.
  3. Pushes the turtle with one finger across the board, trying to guide it onto the matching colored ring.
  4. The turn ends when the turtle reaches its goal ring or stops moving.
  5. Play passes to the next player.

Actions

Push the Turtle: Using one finger, push the turtle piece from the board’s edge toward the target colored ring. The turtle must navigate around the branches and other balls on the board.

Ball Manipulation: As the turtle moves, it may contact and push balls into new positions, either helping or hindering future turns.

Ring Collection: If the turtle successfully reaches the correct colored ring, the player scores that placement.

Scoring / Victory Conditions

Players score by successfully guiding their turtles to the correct colored rings. The player who completes the most successful ring placements wins the game.
