Revive
Overview
Revive is a strategy game for 1-4 players with asymmetric player powers, highly variable setup, and no direct conflict. Set 5,000 years after the fall of humankind, ice is receding and civilizations are being rebuilt. Players lead tribes exploring and populating the newly revealed land, building structures, unlocking technologies, and competing for control of ancient sites. The game uses multi-use cards with deck-building elements and dual-layer tech trees. Each tribe has unique abilities and technologies that shape their strategy.

Actions
Card Uses (Multi-Use)
Each citizen card can be used in one of several ways:
- Populate: Place a population figure on the board.
- Build: Construct a small or large building.
- Explore: Reveal new terrain tiles on the board.
- Gain Resources: Collect energy, crates, or other resources.
- Special Effect: Each card has a unique ability.
Other Actions
- Unlock Technology: Spend resources to unlock tech tree nodes on your tribe board, gaining permanent abilities.
- Upgrade Card Slots: Improve your player board to enhance card effects.
- Install Machines: Place machine tokens on your player board for ongoing bonuses.
- Claim Ancient Sites: Have majority presence at large location tiles to score bonus points.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
Points are earned in two categories:
During the Game (blue marble):
- Building structures
- Populating locations
- Completing certain card effects
- Unlocking technologies
End of Game (purple marble):
- Secret artifact scoring cards (each color scores based on a different condition, e.g., 1 point per population placed, 1 point per technology unlocked)
- Control of ancient sites
- Remaining resources
- Tech tree completion bonuses
- Machine track position
The game ends when triggered by the end game tile (when enough of the board has been explored/populated). The player with the most total victory points wins.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
- Asymmetric Tribes: Each tribe has a unique ability and technology tree. Strategy varies significantly by tribe.
- Multi-Use Cards: Every citizen card has multiple possible uses, creating meaningful decisions each turn.
- Deck Building: New citizen cards can be gained during the game, customizing your deck.
- Refresh Timing: Choosing when to Refresh (pick up all played cards) is critical; you lose tempo but regain options.
- Ancient Sites: These randomized locations are major point sources. Having majority presence there is key.
- Solo Mode: A dedicated solo mode is included with AI opponent rules.
- No Direct Conflict: Players cannot attack each other. Competition is indirect through area majority and resource racing.
- Secret Scoring: Artifact scoring cards are kept secret, creating hidden victory point strategies.
