The objective is to complete a full circuit around the board with your dinosaur before the other players, while navigating hazards posed by T. Rex. Setup
Place the game board in the center of the table.
Each player selects a plastic dinosaur figure and places it on the starting space.
Place the Tyrannosaurus Rex figure in its designated position (center or special space).
Determine who goes first (youngest player).
Turn Structure
On each turn:
Roll the Die: Roll the standard die.
Move Your Dinosaur: Move your dinosaur forward along the track the number of spaces shown.
Resolve Space: Follow any instructions on the space you land on:
T. Rex Encounter: If your movement triggers a T. Rex encounter, your dinosaur may be sent back or lose a turn.
Bonus Space: Some spaces grant extra movement or other advantages.
Hazard Space: Some spaces penalize the player.
Check for T. Rex: If the T. Rex catches your dinosaur (by landing on the same space or via special rules), your dinosaur is sent back to the start or a penalty position.
Actions
Roll and Move: Standard dice movement along the circular track.
Avoid T. Rex: Navigate the board to stay ahead of or away from the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Bonus Spaces: Land on certain spaces for advantages (extra moves, shortcuts).
Penalty Spaces: Land on certain spaces for setbacks (lost turns, move backward).
Scoring / Victory Conditions
Winner: The first player to complete a full circuit around the board with their dinosaur wins.
There is no point scoring; it is a simple race.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
Tyrannosaurus Rex: T. Rex acts as a hazard on the board. The specific rules for T. Rex encounters depend on the edition.
Sent Back: A dinosaur caught by T. Rex is typically sent back to the start or a designated penalty space.
No Exact Landing Required: Players do not need an exact roll to finish (in most editions).
