RattleSnake is a dexterity game for 2-4 players in which players compete to be the first to place all of their magnetic rattlesnake eggs on the game board. The board features winding snake paths, and the magnetic eggs attract each other, creating increasing tension as more eggs are placed. If eggs snap together, the player who caused the collision must pick up all joined eggs. The first player to successfully place all of their eggs wins.
Components
1 Game board with colored snake paths
12 Magnetic rattlesnake eggs
1 Six-sided die (with colored faces)
Setup
Place the game board in the center of the table.
Divide the 12 rattlesnake eggs among all players:
2 players: 6 eggs each
3 players: 4 eggs each
4 players: 3 eggs each
The youngest player takes the die and starts the game.
Turn Structure
On each turn:
Roll the Die: Roll the six-sided die to determine which color snake you must place an egg on.
Place an Egg: Carefully place one of your magnetic eggs on the snake path matching the color rolled. The center of the egg must rest on the snake.
Check for Collisions: If any eggs snap together due to magnetic attraction, the active player must collect all joined eggs.
Pass the Die: Pass the die to the next player clockwise.
Actions
Roll and Place: Roll the die and place an egg on the matching colored snake.
Careful Placement: Position your egg to minimize magnetic attraction with existing eggs.
Collect Eggs (penalty): If you cause a magnetic collision, take all eggs that joined together and add them to your supply.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
Winner: The first player to place ALL of their eggs on the board wins immediately.
If the game becomes impossible (no valid placements), the player with the fewest remaining eggs wins.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
Magnetic Attraction: The eggs are magnetic and attract each other. As more eggs are placed on the board, the risk of collision increases dramatically.
Egg Placement: The center of the egg must rest on the snake path corresponding to the die color. Eggs cannot be placed on other colored snakes.
Chain Reactions: A single placement can cause multiple eggs to snap together; the active player takes ALL joined eggs.
Steady Hands Required: This is a dexterity game; shaky placement increases collision risk.
