Piou Piou is a quick card game where players collect sets of cards to lay eggs and hatch chicks. The first player to hatch 3 chicks wins. Players must manage their hand of 4 cards, using roosters, hens, and nests to lay eggs, pairs of hens to hatch them, and fox cards to steal opponents’ eggs.
On your turn, you must choose one of the following:
At the end of your turn, draw cards from the draw pile until you have exactly 4 cards in hand. Then the next player takes their turn.
Play 3 cards: 1 Rooster + 1 Hen + 1 Nest. Take 1 egg token from the central pile and place it in front of you, egg side up. Discard the 3 played cards.
Play 2 Hen cards while imitating a hen clucking. Flip one of your egg tokens to its chick side. Discard the 2 played cards.
Play 1 Fox card, targeting another player. Take one of their egg tokens (you cannot steal a chick, only an unhatched egg). The targeted player may defend by playing 2 Rooster cards (which are discarded and immediately replaced by drawing 2 cards from the draw pile). If defended successfully, the fox card is still discarded and the egg remains with its owner.
The first player to have 3 chicks (hatched eggs) in front of them wins the game.
