Mycelia is a strategic mushroom-growing game where players develop their own fungi kingdom. Players move mushroom pawns, spore new mushrooms, explore new terrain, fruit mushrooms for points, and discover special abilities. The player who most efficiently grows and fruits their mushroom network scores the most points and wins.
Each player has 2 actions per turn, chosen from the following:
Move one of your mushroom pawns to any adjacent connected tile. Some tiles may have movement restrictions or bonuses.
From a mushroom on the board, place a spore token on an adjacent empty tile. Spores can later grow into mushrooms.
Draw a terrain tile and place it adjacent to the existing map. Must connect to at least one existing tile.
A mushroom that meets fruiting conditions can be converted to a fruit token, scoring victory points. Fruiting conditions vary by mushroom type and terrain.
Draw a discovery card for special one-time or ongoing abilities that enhance your actions.
Remove one of your pieces from the board. Some effects force decay as a cost or penalty.
Players score points primarily through fruiting mushrooms. Additional points come from:
The game ends after a set number of rounds or when certain conditions are met. The player with the most points wins.
