Mr. Jack in New York

Overview

Mr. Jack in New York is a standalone sequel to Mr. Jack, set on Manhattan island. One player is Jack hiding among 8 suspects; the other is the Detective trying to unmask him. The game features a hex-based Manhattan board with new mechanics including informant tokens, gas lamps, and an exit system. The core deduction mechanism remains: after activating characters, Jack declares visible or invisible, and the Detective eliminates suspects.

Components

Setup

  1. Place the Manhattan board and set up characters in starting positions.
  2. Place gaslights, informants, and barricades as indicated.
  3. All 8 character tokens start Suspect side up.
  4. Jack draws 1 alibi card (secret identity).
  5. Set round counter to 1.

Turn Structure

Follows the same structure as the original Mr. Jack:

  1. Character Selection: 4 characters per round, selected alternately (1/2/1 split between Detective and Jack, alternating who starts on odd/even rounds).
  2. Character Activation: Move and use special abilities.
  3. Witness Call: Jack declares Visible or Invisible.
  4. Elimination: Flip characters that contradict Jack’s declaration to Innocent.
