Mississippi
Overview
Mississippi is a riverboat racing game where players navigate paddle steamers up the Mississippi River. Players use cards to move their boats, trying to be the first to reach the destination. The river course features obstacles and other boats that create strategic challenges. The player who reaches the end first wins.
Components
- 1 game board (Mississippi River course)
- Player boat tokens
- Movement cards or dice
- Obstacle markers
Setup
- Place the board in the center.
- Each player chooses a boat and places it at the start.
- Shuffle and deal movement cards (if applicable).
- Place obstacles as indicated on the board.
Turn Structure
Players take turns in clockwise order. On your turn:
- Play a movement card or roll dice to determine your movement.
- Move your boat along the river the indicated number of spaces.
- Resolve any encounters with obstacles or other boats.
Actions
Movement
- Move your boat forward along the river.
- Navigate around obstacles and other boats.
- Some spaces may have currents or hazards that affect movement.
Bumping
- If you land on or pass a space occupied by another boat, special bumping rules may apply.
- Boats can block narrow passages.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
The first player to reach the end of the river course wins the game.
