Meschugge is a fast-paced reaction card game where cards have a color word printed on them in a different color (similar to the Stroop effect). A card is revealed and a die is rolled to determine whether players must match by “WORD” or “COLOR.” Players race to be the first to play a correct card from their hand.
Each round:
If the die shows “WORD,” you must play a card whose color matches the word written on the revealed card.
If the die shows “COLOR,” you must play a card whose word matches the color of the revealed card.
If the revealed card describes itself (e.g., “RED” printed in red), no one may play a card. Instead, players must call “Contra!” Playing a card on a self-describing card is a penalty.
The first player to get rid of all their cards wins. Alternatively, score points for each correctly played card; most points after a set number of rounds wins.
Incorrect plays result in penalties (take back card plus draw additional cards).
WORD rolled: Play a card whose color matches the word on the revealed card
COLOR rolled: Play a card whose word matches the color of the revealed card
Self-describing card: Do NOT play; call “Contra!” instead
Win: First to empty hand (or most points)
