Overview

In Mare Balticum, each player takes the role of a captain of a fleet of fishing boats sailing the choppy waters of the Baltic Sea. Players have three main actions: catch fish, move ships to richer waters, or store fish at ports. The goal is to become the most successful fisherman by managing your fleet efficiently and storing the most valuable catches.

Components

Setup

  1. Place the board centrally.
  2. Each player takes their fleet of fishing boats and places them at starting ports.
  3. Distribute fish tokens to various sea zones.

Turn Structure

On each turn, a player performs one of three actions:

  1. Catch fish in the zone where one of their boats is located.
  2. Move a boat to an adjacent zone for better fishing.
  3. Store fish at a port to lock in points.

Actions

Catch Fish

Select a boat in a zone with fish. Take fish tokens from that zone. The type and quantity available depend on the zone.

Move

Move one of your boats from its current zone to an adjacent zone. Planning movement to reach zones with abundant or valuable fish is key.

Store Fish

When a boat is at a port, transfer its caught fish to the port storage. Stored fish are safe and count toward final scoring.

Scoring / Victory Conditions

The game ends after a set number of rounds or when fish supplies are depleted. Players score based on:
