In Mare Balticum, each player takes the role of a captain of a fleet of fishing boats sailing the choppy waters of the Baltic Sea. Players have three main actions: catch fish, move ships to richer waters, or store fish at ports. The goal is to become the most successful fisherman by managing your fleet efficiently and storing the most valuable catches.
On each turn, a player performs one of three actions:
Select a boat in a zone with fish. Take fish tokens from that zone. The type and quantity available depend on the zone.
Move one of your boats from its current zone to an adjacent zone. Planning movement to reach zones with abundant or valuable fish is key.
When a boat is at a port, transfer its caught fish to the port storage. Stored fish are safe and count toward final scoring.
The game ends after a set number of rounds or when fish supplies are depleted. Players score based on:
The player with the most points wins.
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Catch | Take fish from current zone |
| Move | Sail boat to adjacent zone |
| Store | Transfer fish to port for scoring |
