Overview
Mall of Horror is a survival board game where players control groups of characters trapped in a zombie-infested shopping mall. Each round, zombies arrive and attack locations. Players negotiate, vote, and sacrifice characters to survive. The player with the most victory points from surviving characters wins.

Setup
- Each player selects a color and receives 3 character tokens (Pin-Up, Tough Guy, Gunman) and a voting wheel.
- The oldest player becomes Chief of Security.
- In 3-4 player games, Location 2 is closed.
- Each player rolls 2 dice to place characters in matching locations (continue until all placed).
- The Chief rolls 4 dice to place initial zombies.
Turn Structure
Each round has these phases:
A. Search the Truck
Characters in the Parking Lot vote on who searches the truck. The winner examines 3 action cards, keeps 1, gives 1 to another player, and puts 1 at the bottom of the deck.
B. Elect Chief of Security
Characters in Security HQ vote for a new Chief. If no one is elected, the current Chief remains.
C. Zombie Arrival
The Chief rolls 4 dice under cover of the dice box. Players with Security Camera cards may peek. Zombies are placed at locations matching dice results.
D. Choose Destinations
Players secretly select locations for their characters using voting wheels. No location may exceed its capacity.
E. Move Characters
Characters move simultaneously. If a location becomes condemned (8+ zombies), it closes permanently. Overflow characters go to the Parking Lot.
F. Attack of the Zombies
Zombies attack locations with characters. When zombies equal or exceed character count at a location, players vote to sacrifice one character (the victim is eliminated). Tough Guys count as 2 defenders.
Actions
Action Cards
- Hardware: Reduces zombie threat by 1
- Weapon: Kills 1-2 zombies
- Hidden: Protects a character from being voted as victim; that character cannot vote but counts toward defense
- Security Camera: View zombie arrival dice
- Sprint: Change destination during movement phase
- Threat: Discard before voting for extra votes
Voting
- Players vote simultaneously using wheels.
- Each character in a location gets 1 vote.
- Gunmen get an extra vote when present.
- Tied votes trigger re-voting.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
The game ends when all surviving characters occupy the same non-Parking Lot location, or only 4 characters remain total.
- Each character token has a victory point value.
- The player with the most victory points from surviving characters wins.
- Ties broken by unused action cards.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
- Parking Lot: Every zombie in the Parking Lot feeds automatically. All zombies leave after feeding.
- Supermarket: Only 4 zombies needed to enter, regardless of character count.
- Eliminated players: Those who lose all characters return as zombies in subsequent rounds, placing a zombie at their chosen location during the destination phase.
- Condemned locations: Permanently closed; characters and zombies inside are lost.
