Lego Heroica is a buildable adventure board game system where players construct the game board from Lego bricks, then guide heroes through dungeons fighting monsters and collecting items. Players roll the Heroica die to move through connected rooms, battle creatures, and complete missions. Multiple Heroica sets can be combined for larger adventures. The game is designed for ages 8 and up.
Components
(Varies by set; Fortaan set example)
Lego bricks to build the game board sections
Heroica die (custom die with shield, skull, and movement symbols)
Build the game board sections following the building instructions.
Place monsters on designated spaces.
Place items (potions, weapons, gold) on designated spaces.
Each player chooses a hero and places it on the starting space.
Choose a mission from the mission map poster.
Turn Structure
On your turn:
Roll the Heroica die
Resolve the result:
Movement (1-4 spaces): Move your hero up to the shown number of spaces.
Shield: Defeat an adjacent monster immediately (no movement required).
Skull: A monster attacks you (lose 1 health or use a potion to block).
Actions
Move: Move up to the number of spaces shown on the die through connected paths.
Battle monsters: When you land on or move through a space with a monster, battle occurs. Roll the die; Shield = defeat monster, Skull = take damage, Number = no battle effect (must stop).
Collect items: Pick up potions, weapons, and gold from spaces you move through or land on.
Use potions: Spend a potion to heal or block a Skull result.
Use weapons: Each hero class has unique weapon abilities.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
Complete the chosen mission objective (varies by mission: defeat a boss monster, reach a specific location, collect certain items, etc.).
The first player to complete the mission wins.
Some missions are cooperative (all players vs. the game).
Special Rules & Edge Cases
Hero classes: Each has a unique special ability (Barbarian has extra strength, Wizard can teleport, Druid can heal, Ranger has ranged attacks, etc.).
Combining sets: Multiple Heroica sets can be connected for larger adventures with more complex missions.
Advanced rules: Add character health, experience points, leveling up, and more complex combat.
Customization: Since it’s Lego, players can rebuild and redesign the board for custom adventures.
Monster types: Different monsters have different combat effects in advanced rules.
