Overview
Just4Fun Colours is a variant of Just4Fun that replaces numbered fields with colored fields. Instead of playing numbered cards that sum to a field number, players play cards matching the color of the field they want to place on. The core objective remains the same: achieve majority control on four adjacent fields in a row.
Components
- 1 game board with a 6x6 grid of colored fields
- 80 colored stones (20 per player in 4 player colors)
- Card deck with colored cards matching the field colors
- Cards numbered 1-19
Setup
- Each player takes 20 stones of their chosen color.
- Shuffle the card deck and deal 4 cards to each player.
- Place remaining cards as the draw pile.
Turn Structure
On your turn:
- Play cards: Play 1 to 4 cards from your hand. The sum of the card values determines which numbered field on the board receives your stone.
- Place a stone: Place one stone on the calculated field.
- Draw cards: Draw cards equal to the number played.
Actions
Playing Cards and Placement
- Play between 1 and 4 cards. The sum determines the target field.
- You cannot place on a field where an opponent has a 2-stone majority.
- A field with a 2-stone majority is permanently locked.
Unable to Move
- If no legal placement exists, discard your hand and draw 4 new cards.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
Immediate Win: Control (majority) on 4 fields in a row – horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.
Timed Win: If no winner after 20 rounds, the player controlling the most valuable fields wins (field numbers as points).
Special Rules & Edge Cases
- Majority means having more stones than any single opponent on that field.
- Tied fields are not controlled by anyone.
- The color-based variant adds visual accessibility to the number-based system.
- The 2-stone lock rule prevents runaway majority situations.
