Hey, That’s My Fish!
Overview
2–4 players move penguin figures across a shrinking hex board of ice floe tiles, collecting fish. The board breaks apart as tiles are removed each turn. The player who collects the most fish when all penguins are stranded wins.

Tiles are double-sided: fish side up = ice floe present; empty water side up = removed.
Setup
- Assemble the 4 ocean boards (fish icons all facing the same direction).
- Shuffle all 60 ice floe tiles face-down, then place them all face-up randomly on the boards.
- Each player chooses a color and takes their penguins:
- 2 players: 4 penguins each
- 3 players: 3 penguins each
- 4 players: 2 penguins each
- Starting with the youngest player and going clockwise, each player places one penguin on an unoccupied 1-fish tile. Repeat until all penguins are placed.
Turn Structure
Each turn has exactly two steps: Move then Collect. See Actions below.
Actions
1. Move one penguin
Move any one of your penguins in a straight line in any of the six hex directions. Rules:
- The penguin may move as far as you want in one direction.
- It cannot change direction mid-move.
- It cannot move onto or through a tile occupied by any penguin (including your own).
- It cannot move onto or through empty water (gaps where tiles have been removed).
2. Collect one ice floe tile
Take the tile the penguin started its move from and add it face-up to your collection. That space is now open water.
Then play passes clockwise.
Turn Structure (Summary)
- Move one penguin (straight line, any distance)
- Collect the tile the penguin left
Stuck Penguins
If a player cannot move any of their penguins on their turn, they are eliminated from further turns. All their penguins are removed from the board and the tiles those penguins were standing on are added to that player’s collection.
End of Game
The game ends when all penguins have been removed from the board (all players are stuck). Any uncollected tiles are returned to the box.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
- Count the total fish on your collected tiles.
- Most fish wins.
- Tiebreaker: The tied player with the most collected tile count wins.
- If still tied, all tied players share the victory.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
- Penguin placement: Penguins may only be placed on 1-fish tiles during setup (not 2- or 3-fish tiles).
- Your own penguins block you: A penguin cannot move through or onto a tile occupied by one of your own penguins.
- Collecting the starting tile only: You collect the tile the penguin moved from, not the tile it moved to.
- Tile switching at setup: If all players agree, they may rearrange tiles during setup to more evenly distribute 2- and 3-fish tiles.
- Last tile: A penguin standing on an isolated tile (no legal moves) is removed and its tile added to that player’s collection.
