Overview

In Harmonies, players build personal landscapes by placing colored tokens on their boards and creating habitats to attract animals. Tokens form features like Trees, Buildings, Mountains, Fields, and Rivers/Islands. Animal cards show specific habitat patterns that must be recreated to score points. The player with the most combined landscape and animal points wins.

Components

Setup

  1. Place Central board (2-4 Players side up).
  2. Put all tokens in the Pouch.
  3. Fill each of the 5 Central board spaces with 3 tokens drawn randomly from the Pouch.
  4. Shuffle Animal cards; place 5 face up next to the Central board; rest as draw pile.
  5. Place Animal cubes within reach.
  6. Each player takes a Personal board (all use same side). Each takes a matching Reminder card.
  7. Last player to see a magnificent landscape goes first; point Central board arrow toward them.

Turn Structure

Starting with the first player, proceeding clockwise, each player takes a turn with 3 actions (performed in any order):

1. Take 3 Tokens (mandatory, once per turn)

Take all 3 tokens from any one Central board space. Place them on your Personal board following placement rules.

2. Take 1 Animal Card (optional, once per turn)

Choose 1 of the 5 face-up Animal cards. Place it above your Personal board (max 4 cards at a time). Take Animal cubes to fill each space on the card.

3. Place 1 Animal Cube (optional, unlimited times per turn)

If a habitat pattern on an Animal card matches your board, place the bottommost cube on the corresponding token. Once all cubes are placed, the card is complete and no longer counts toward the 4-card limit.

End of Turn

Draw 3 tokens from the Pouch to refill the Central board. Refill Animal cards to 5 if needed.

Scoring / Victory Conditions

Landscape Scoring

| Feature | Points | |———|——–| | Building | 5 pts each, only if surrounded by 3+ different colored adjacent tokens (0 pts otherwise) | | Mountain (height 1) | 1 pt (must be adjacent to another Mountain) | | Mountain (height 2) | 3 pts (must be adjacent to another Mountain) | | Mountain (height 3) | 6 pts (must be adjacent to another Mountain) | | Field | 5 pts per group of 2+ contiguous yellow tokens | | Tree (height 1) | 1 pt | | Tree (height 2) | 3 pts | | Tree (height 3) | 6 pts | | River (Side A) | Score longest river by token count; 4 pts per token beyond 6th | | Islands (Side B) | 5 pts per island (groups separated by blue tokens) |

Animal Card Scoring

For each Animal card, score the topmost empty space’s point value. A card with all cubes still on it = 0 points. No penalty for incomplete cards.

End of Game Triggers

  1. The Pouch is empty when you need to refill the Central board.
  2. A player has 2 or fewer unoccupied spaces on their Personal board.

Finish the current round so all players have equal turns. Highest total points wins. Tiebreaker: most Animal cubes placed. Further tie: shared victory.
