Overview

Go Cuckoo! is a dexterity game where players build a nest from colored sticks inside a tin can, then try to balance eggs on the nest structure. Players draw sticks and attempt to find matching-color-ended sticks, placing them across the top of the can to create a nest platform. The first player to place all their eggs and successfully perch Kiki the Cuckoo on top of the nest wins.

Components

Setup

  1. Divide the eggs equally among all players.
  2. Place all 70 sticks loosely inside the tin can, creating a tangled base structure.
  3. Place Kiki Cuckoo to the side – she will be needed at the end.

Turn Structure

On your turn:

  1. Draw sticks: Draw up to 3 sticks from the can, one at a time.
  2. Check for matching ends: Look for a stick where both ends are the same color.
  3. Place sticks: Lay drawn sticks horizontally across the top of the can to build the nest.
  4. Place an egg: If you drew a matching-color stick, place one of your eggs on the nest.
  5. If you did not find a matching stick within 3 draws, simply place the drawn sticks on the nest without adding an egg.
