Girl Talk is a truth-or-dare party board game for 2-10 players, originally published in 1988 and popularized by Milton Bradley in the 1990s. Players spin a crystal ball spinner to receive stunts, dares, or questions. Successfully completing challenges earns points; refusing means wearing a “Zit Sticker” for the rest of the game. Every 15 points, players earn a Fortune Card from one of four categories. The first player to collect one Fortune Card from each category wins and reads their fortunes aloud.
On your turn:
Spin the crystal ball knob. Read the stunt, dare, or question revealed.
The scorekeeper records points earned. When a player reaches 15 points, they immediately choose one Fortune Card from any of the four categories and place it face-down in front of them without reading it.
Points do not carry over past 15. Any excess points beyond 15 are forfeited. The player starts accumulating toward the next 15-point threshold.
Play passes to the next player clockwise.
The spinner reveals various challenges such as:
Players who refuse challenges must place a Zit Sticker visibly on their face. These remain for the rest of the game as a penalty for refusing.
Four categories provide future “fortunes”:
Points: Earned by successfully completing spinner challenges. Point values vary by difficulty.
Fortune Cards: Earned at every 15-point threshold. Player chooses which category to draw from.
Win: The first player to collect 4 Fortune Cards (one from each category: Marriage, Career, Special Moments, Children) wins.
Victory Celebration: The winner reads all four Fortune Cards aloud as their “fortune.” Other players return their Fortune Cards to the piles without reading them.
All stunts must be completed within 2 minutes. Failure to complete within the time limit counts as a refusal.
Refusing is always an option, but the Zit Sticker penalty is permanent for the rest of the game.
The spinner disc is double-sided. After playing through all stunts on one side, flip the disc for new challenges.
Some spinner results ask you to choose another player to participate with you. Both players may earn points if the challenge is cooperative.
Fortune Cards can be reshuffled for subsequent games. The double-sided spinner provides variety.
