Game for Fame is a team-based party game for 4-16 players themed around becoming the highest-paid actor. Players split into teams and take turns performing challenges from Money Maker cards – communicating in bizarre ways (accents, mime, drawing, etc.) while teammates guess within a time limit. Teams race around the board toward the Red Carpet space. At the end, individual players compare their total earnings (base money from board position + accumulated credits) to determine the winner.
Teams take turns clockwise. On your team’s turn:
A designated player draws the top Money Maker card and reads the action aloud (or performs it as instructed).
The card reader performs the challenge described on the card. Challenges involve communicating a word, phrase, or concept through unusual methods (e.g., saying a line in 5 different accents, acting out a scene, drawing a concept).
Teammates try to guess correctly within the sand timer (60 seconds). Correct guesses determine how many spaces the team advances on the board.
Some card results earn individual credits for specific players, recorded on the notepad.
Advance the team’s pawn the designated number of spaces.
Place the used card at the bottom of the pile. Rotate the card reader within the team so all members get turns.
Money Maker cards contain various types of challenges:
Individual players earn credits based on their performance in challenges. Credits are tracked separately from team board position and contribute to the final individual score.
Game End: The game ends when any team reaches the 30 million Red Carpet space on the board.
Final Scoring:
Note: While teams race together on the board, the final winner is determined individually.
Teams should be as equal in size as possible. With odd numbers, one team may have an extra member.
Each team member should get opportunities to read/perform cards. Rotate the reader role each turn.
The game accommodates up to 16 players, making it suitable for large parties. Teams can range from 2-4 members.
The dual scoring system (team board position + individual credits) means that even a team that arrives last may have a player who wins if they accumulated enough credits.
Turn: Draw card -> Perform challenge -> Team guesses (60 sec) -> Earn credits -> Move pawn
Win Condition: Highest individual earnings (board position base + credits)
