Gambit 7 is a unique trivia/betting game for 3-7 players where knowing the exact answer is not necessary to win. Each round, a numerical trivia question is posed and all players simultaneously write down their answer. Then players bet on who they think is closest to the actual answer – they can bet on themselves or on other players. Points are awarded for having the closest answer and for correctly betting on the winner. After 7 rounds, the player with the most points wins.
Each of the 7 rounds:
The reader draws a question card and reads the numerical trivia question aloud. Questions have numerical answers (e.g., “How many bones are in the human body?” or “In what year was the Eiffel Tower built?”).
All players simultaneously and secretly write down their best guess on their answer pad.
All players reveal their answers at the same time.
Players now bet on who they think is closest to the actual answer. You may bet on yourself or on another player.
The correct answer is revealed from the question card.
Rotate the reader and begin the next round.
Write your best numerical guess. It does not need to be exact – being closest is what matters.
After seeing everyone’s answers, decide who you think is closest. This is the game’s core strategic decision:
You may deliberately write a misleading answer to draw bets, then hope another answer is actually closer to earn betting points elsewhere. However, this risks losing the closest-answer bonus.
Points per Round:
After 7 Rounds: Total all points. The player with the most points wins.
Tiebreaker: The player who had the most “closest answer” wins in more rounds breaks the tie.
If two or more players are equally close to the correct answer, points may be split or additional tiebreaking rules may apply.
With more than 7 players, form teams. Team members contribute answers collectively and bet as a team.
All questions have specific numerical answers. Players should write their answer as a number, not a range.
The game always lasts exactly 7 rounds (hence the name “Gambit 7”).
Round: Question read -> Everyone writes answer -> Reveal answers -> Place bets -> Reveal correct answer -> Score
Scoring: Points for closest answer + Points for correct bet
