Factory Fun is a real-time puzzle game where players build and optimize their own factory floors. Each round, players simultaneously grab machine tiles and then must connect them to their factory boards using pipelines, supply containers, and reservoirs. Machines take colored inputs and produce colored outputs, and clever chaining of machines earns bonus tokens. The challenge lies in spatial planning — every machine must be properly connected, and building costs eat into your revenue. The wealthiest factory owner after 10 rounds wins.
Pillar tokens (1 per player, placed in center of factory)
40 bonus tokens
Scoring tokens and Money Track
Diagonal intersection tiles (optional, 1 per player)
Setup
Appoint a Banker to manage the Money Track and scoring tokens.
Stack 10 machine tiles per player face-down near the center of the table.
Each player receives: 1 factory board, 1 pillar token (placed in the center), 1 supply container of each color, 3 output reservoirs, and optionally 1 diagonal intersection tile.
Each player sets their score marker on the Money Track.
Turn Structure
The game is played over 10 rounds. Each round has two phases:
Phase 1: Machine Selection (Simultaneous)
Flip face-down machine tiles equal to the number of players plus one.
All players simultaneously reach for and grab one machine tile each using their designated hand.
One tile will remain unchosen.
Phase 2: Factory Building (Simultaneous)
Each player adds their selected machine to their factory board.
Connect all inputs and outputs using connectors, supply containers, and reservoirs.
If a player cannot (or chooses not to) place the machine, they discard it with no penalty.
The Banker adjusts each player’s position on the Money Track: machine revenue minus building costs.
Actions
Machine Placement
Each machine tile occupies 2 squares on the factory board.
Inputs (1-3 colored connections) must be supplied from either a supply container of the matching color or the output of another machine.
Outputs must connect to a reservoir or another machine’s input.
Color matching is strict: input and output colors must match (green, red, blue, orange).
Black outputs (end products) must connect to an end-product reservoir.
A machine cannot feed itself, even through other machines (no loops).
Building Costs
Placing a machine tile is free.
Placing any reservoir, supply container, or connector costs 1 money.
Repositioning an existing machine costs 2 money; repositioning a connector costs 1 money.
Building costs are subtracted from the machine’s revenue.
Bonus Chains
When a machine’s input comes from another machine’s output (rather than a supply container), it creates a chain.
Bonus tokens are awarded for chained connections, worth 5 times the number of chained inputs.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
After 10 rounds:
Add machine revenue earned throughout the game (tracked on Money Track).
Add the values of all bonus tokens in your factory.
The player with the most money wins.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
Pillar: The center pillar cannot be moved and occupies a fixed position on the factory board, creating a spatial constraint.
Simultaneous grab: All players reach at the same time; the physical grab is part of the game’s real-time element.
