Overview

Elefun is a children’s action game where players use butterfly nets to catch colorful butterflies launched into the air by a motorized elephant toy. The elephant’s trunk blows butterflies upward, and players race to catch as many as they can before they all flutter to the ground. The player who catches the most butterflies wins.

Components

Setup

  1. Insert batteries into the elephant base (requires C or AA batteries depending on version).
  2. Assemble the butterfly nets by attaching the net to the ring and the ring to the handle.
  3. Place all of the butterflies into the opening on the top of the elephant.
  4. Reattach the trunk to the elephant.
  5. Each player chooses a butterfly net.

Turn Structure

Elefun is a real-time game with no turns. All players play simultaneously.

Gameplay

  1. When all players are ready, one player turns the switch on the elephant to ON.
  2. Lift the trunk up until the internal fan keeps it upright on its own – the game begins.
  3. The fan inside the elephant pushes the butterflies up through the trunk, and they fly out of the top.
  4. Players race to catch as many butterflies as they can with their nets as the butterflies float through the air.
  5. The game round ends when all butterflies have been launched and have either been caught or landed on the ground.
