Don’t Drop the Soap is a dark-humored, fast-paced card game of hot potato set in a prison shower. There are no winners, just one loser – the player who is forced to play a soap card. Players try to empty their hands or force others to pick up cards.
Components
59 cards (single deck including soap cards, action cards, and other card types)
Setup
Someone takes the role of dealer.
Give one soap card to the player with “the best butt.”
Shuffle the deck and deal 5 cards to each player (4 cards if playing with 6 players).
Place the deck face-down in the middle of the table.
The player with the extra soap card has the first turn.
Turn Structure
On each turn:
Play exactly one card from your hand into the discard pile.
Resolve the card’s effect.
You never draw a card from the deck unless forced to by a card effect.
Actions
Each card has a specific effect that must be resolved when played. Soap cards can only be played if you have no other options or cards to play.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
If you get rid of all your cards, you are “safe” and can no longer be targeted by other players.
The game ends when a player loses by either:
Playing a soap card (no other options)
Being the last non-safe player in the game
The loser starts the next round with the extra soap card.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
The Lawyer card is the only card that can target a “safe” player.
If the deck runs out of cards, do NOT reshuffle the discard pile. Finish the game with the cards in hand.
If a card’s conditions cannot be met, play the card but ignore its effect.
Example: Play a “Snitch” card even if you have no other cards in hand.
Example: Play a “Prison bitch” card even if there are no more cards in the deck.
Example: Play “Smokes” even if you have no other cards to trade.
