Overview
Catan: Portable Edition (also known as Catan: Travel Edition) is a compact version of the classic Settlers of Catan board game designed for travel. The rules are identical to the standard game. Players collect resources, trade, and build roads, settlements, and cities on the island of Catan. The compact form factor features interlocking hexes and smaller components that are more portable but otherwise play identically to the standard edition.
Components
- Compact game board with interlocking hex tiles
- Small-format resource cards (brick, lumber, wool, grain, ore)
- Development cards (knights, road building, year of plenty, monopoly, VP cards)
- Building pieces in 4 colors (roads, settlements, cities)
- 2 dice
- Robber figure
- Longest Road and Largest Army cards
- Building costs reference cards

- Build: Spend resources on roads, settlements, cities, or development cards.
Actions
- Road: 1 brick + 1 lumber
- Settlement: 1 brick + 1 lumber + 1 grain + 1 wool (on an intersection adjacent to your road, at least 2 intersections from any settlement)
- City: 3 ore + 2 grain (upgrade a settlement)
- Development Card: 1 ore + 1 grain + 1 wool
Rolling 7: Move robber, steal 1 resource from adjacent player, players with 8+ cards discard half.
