Overview

Bookchase is a literary trivia board game for 2 to 6 players, ages 6 and up. Players move around the board collecting books from six literary categories by answering multiple-choice questions and landing on special spaces. The first player to collect one book from each of the six categories and reach the center of the board wins.

Components

Setup

  1. Place the board in the center of the table.
  2. Each player chooses a pawn and a Bookchase Shelf card.
  3. Place all book tokens in their respective category areas on the board.
  4. Shuffle the question cards and place them in their draw pile.
  5. Shuffle Award and Sentence cards separately.
  6. Each player places their pawn on the starting space.

Turn Structure

On each turn:

  1. Roll the dice.
  2. Move your pawn that number of spaces in any direction you choose.
  3. Resolve the space you land on (answer a question, visit a special location, or draw a card).
  4. If you answered correctly at a Bookchase Runner space, claim a book of the matching category.

Scoring / Victory Conditions

The first player to collect one book from each of the 6 categories and then reach the center space of the board with an exact dice roll wins.
