Blink is a two-player speed card game marketed as “the world’s fastest game.” Both players play simultaneously, racing to empty their hands and draw piles by matching cards to two shared center piles. Cards match by sharing at least one of three attributes: color, shape, or count. The first player to play all their cards wins.
Components
60 cards (each showing a combination of color, shape, and count)
Cards have three attributes:
Color: 6 possible colors
Shape: 6 possible shapes (stars, triangles, diamonds, etc.)
Count: 1-5 symbols on each card
Setup
Shuffle all 60 cards.
Deal them evenly: 30 cards per player, face-down as each player’s draw pile.
Each player draws the top 3 cards from their draw pile into their hand.
Each player flips the top card of their draw pile face-up simultaneously to form 2 center piles.
Turn Structure
There are no turns – both players play simultaneously as fast as they can.
Actions
Play a Card
Play a card from your hand onto either center pile.
A card must match at least one attribute of the top card on the center pile:
Same color
Same shape
Same count (number of symbols)
Example: A card with 4 brown stars can be played on any card that is brown (color), has stars (shape), or has 4 symbols (count).
Draw
Immediately after playing a card, draw a new card from your draw pile to refill your hand to 3 cards.
You may only hold a maximum of 3 cards at any time.
You may only play one card at a time (no stacking).
Stuck
If neither player can play any card, both players simultaneously flip the top card of their draw piles onto the center piles and continue.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
The first player to empty both their hand and draw pile wins.
Shout “BLINK!” when you play your last card.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
Only one card may be played at a time – no playing multiple cards simultaneously.
Hand size is always exactly 3 cards (or fewer if the draw pile is exhausted).
Speed is essential – there are no turns, so quicker players have an advantage.
If both players run out of playable cards and have no draw pile left, the player with fewer remaining cards wins.
