Overview

Barbie Queen of the Prom is a classic roll-and-move board game where players compete to become Queen of the Prom. To qualify, players must acquire three items: a prom dress, a steady boyfriend, and a club president card. Once all three are obtained and any debts are cleared, a player may enter the “Path to the Prom” and race to reach the crown space first.

Components

Setup

  1. Place the gameboard in the center of the table.
  2. Choose a player to be the banker. The banker manages the money and cards.
  3. Shuffle the Surprise Cards and place them face down on the gameboard.
  4. Place the remaining card types on their corresponding sections of the board.
  5. Each player takes a playing piece and $25.
  6. Place all playing pieces on the Home space.
  7. The player to the right of the banker starts. Play moves counterclockwise.

Turn Structure

  1. Roll the die.
  2. Move your playing piece the number of spaces shown.
  3. When landing on a space with two arrows, choose which path to follow on your next turn.
  4. Take the action printed on the space you landed on.
  5. Your turn ends; pass play to the right.

Scoring / Victory Conditions

To win, a player must:

  1. Have a prom dress
  2. Have a steady boyfriend
  3. Have a club president card
  4. Have no I.O.U. cards (all debts repaid)
  5. Enter the “Path to the Prom”
  6. Be the first player to reach the crown space

The first player to reach the crown with all required items becomes Queen of the Prom. The second player to reach becomes Princess.
