Overview
Attacktix is a collectible action figure combat game by Hasbro set in the Star Wars universe. Players build squads of battle figures and physically move and attack with them, using built-in projectile launchers or striker mechanisms to knock down opponents’ figures. The last player with a figure standing wins. The game features three levels of play: Quick Battle, Equal Points, and Master Battle (with special powers and effects).
Components
- Collectible battle figures, each on a base showing:
- Speed (number of “tix” the figure can move)
- Point value
- Attacktix class (Warrior, Leader, Captain, Trooper, Specialist, Mega)
- Star Wars class (Droid Army, Wookiee, Rebel, Bounty Hunter, Separatist, Sith, Empire, Republic, Jedi)
- Special power (on underside)
- Attacktix window (color indicator on bottom of base)
- Built-in attack mechanisms (missile launchers, striker arms, etc.)
- Missiles (specific to each figure)
Setup
Quick Battle (Level 1)
- Each player chooses any 3 battle figures for their squad (save the Emperor for Master Battles).
- Line up figures about 3 feet apart on a flat surface, side by side along a starting line.
- Youngest player goes first.
Equal Points
- Each player builds a squad worth the same total point value. Standard is 100 points; 200 or 500 points for larger games.
- Each figure’s point value is shown on its base.
Master Battle (Level 2)
- Build squads with equal points (100 standard).
- Set up a battle area approximately 3 feet wide.
- Place starting lines 2 tix from each edge.
- Place figures along starting lines. Extra figures go in the backup area behind the starting line.
- Designate defeated areas off to the side.
- To determine first player: grind (roll forward) a figure while covering the Attacktix window; opponent calls “red” or “black”; correct guess wins first turn.
Turn Structure
On each turn, a player performs two steps in order:
- Move: Move as many of your figures as you want, in any direction, up to the number of tix shown on the top of each figure’s base.
- Attack: Attack with up to 2 different figures using their built-in attack mechanisms (missile launchers, striker arms, etc.).
Missiles are reloaded at the start of your next turn.
Actions
- Move: Slide a figure along the playing surface up to its speed value in tix. You may reposition (turn) a figure before firing but not after.
- Attack: Fire a missile or swing a striker arm at opponents’ figures. Each turn you may attack with up to 2 figures.
- Use a figure as a shield: Strategically move your own figures in front of others to block attacks.
- Activate Special Power (Master Battle): When a figure is knocked down, check the Attacktix window on its base. If it shows white, the special power listed on the figure takes effect immediately. Powers can call figures back into play, grant extra attacks, or affect other figures by name, class, or Star Wars class.
- Use Effects (Master Battle): Some figures have persistent effects active the entire time the figure is in play. Effects are optional and can be activated at the beginning of your turn. Only one of the same effect may be used per turn.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
The last player with at least one figure standing wins the game.
A figure is defeated (knocked over) when:
- Any part of its base is not touching the table surface.
- It falls out of the playing area.
- You accidentally shoot your own figure and it falls.
Defeated figures are removed to the defeated area. In Master Battles, some special powers may bring defeated figures back into play.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
- Grind before play: Always grind (roll forward a few tix) each figure before placing it into play to randomize the Attacktix window color.
- Self-inflicted casualties: If you accidentally knock over your own figure, it is defeated.
- No pushing opponents: You may place your figure touching an opponent’s base, but you may not physically push or move an opponent’s figure.
- Specific missiles: Always use the missile that comes with each figure; larger missiles may not fit.
- Duplicate figures: You may include multiple copies of the same figure in your squad, and your squad may include the same figures as your opponent’s.
- Mixed factions: You may combine good and evil characters in the same squad.
- Backup figures (Master Battle): Extra figures beyond your starting lineup are placed in the backup area and may be called into play via special powers. Place returning figures 2 tix from the starting line.
- Effect limit: You may have multiples of the same effect figure, but may only use one of the same effect per turn.
