Overview
Attacktix Battle Figure Game: Marvel Superheroes is a collectible action figure combat game by Hasbro featuring characters from the Marvel Comics universe. Released in 2006, it uses the same Attacktix game system as the Star Wars edition. Players build squads of Marvel battle figures and physically move and attack with them using built-in projectile launchers or striker mechanisms to knock down opponents’ figures. The last player with a figure standing wins. Figures are cross-compatible with other Attacktix series (Star Wars, Transformers).
Components
- Collectible Marvel battle figures (e.g., Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, and villains), each on a base showing:
- Speed (number of “tix” the figure can move)
- Point value
- Attacktix class
- Marvel class
- Special power (on underside)
- Attacktix window (color indicator on bottom of base)
- Built-in attack mechanisms (missile launchers, striker arms, etc.)
- Missiles (specific to each figure)
Setup
- Each player builds a squad worth the same total point value (100 points standard).
- Line up figures about 3 feet apart on a flat surface along starting lines.
- Determine first player (grind a figure and call the window color).
Turn Structure
On each turn:
- Move as many of your figures as you want, up to each figure’s speed in tix.
- Attack with up to 2 different figures using their built-in mechanisms.
- Reload missiles at the start of your next turn.
Actions
- Move: Slide figures along the surface up to their speed value.
- Attack: Fire missiles or use striker mechanisms to knock down opponents.
- Special Powers: When a figure is knocked down, if the Attacktix window shows white, its special power activates (may bring figures back, grant extra actions, etc.).
- Effects: Some figures have persistent abilities active while in play.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
The last player with at least one figure standing wins. A figure is defeated when any part of its base is not touching the playing surface.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
- Cross-compatibility: Marvel figures can be combined with Star Wars and Transformers Attacktix figures in the same squad.
- Self-inflicted damage: Accidentally knocking your own figure over counts as defeated.
- Duplicate figures allowed: Multiple copies of the same figure can be in one squad.
- Mixed factions: Heroes and villains can be on the same squad.
