Overview
Attack of the Mutants! is a science fiction board game published by Yaquinto Publications in 1981. Players control characters in a science building at Central State Tech, trying to use the equipment in the building to escape to an alternate Earth before mutants can stop them. The game is set during a post-apocalyptic invasion where mutant creatures are overrunning the campus.

Setup
- Place the game board showing the science building layout.
- Distribute character counters to players.
- Place mutant counters according to the scenario setup.
- Place equipment tokens throughout the building.
Turn Structure
Players alternate turns moving their characters and resolving encounters:
- Movement Phase: Move characters through the building rooms and corridors.
- Action Phase: Interact with equipment, barricade doors, or prepare the escape device.
- Mutant Phase: Mutant movement and attacks.
- Combat Phase: Resolve any fights between characters and mutants.
Actions
- Move: Navigate through the science building.
- Use equipment: Interact with scientific apparatus to advance the escape plan.
- Fight mutants: Engage attacking mutants in combat.
- Barricade: Block doorways to slow mutant advances.
- Activate escape device: Work toward powering up the dimensional escape mechanism.
Scoring / Victory Conditions
- Human player(s) win: Successfully activate the escape device and transport to the alternate Earth.
- Mutant player wins: Prevent escape by eliminating all human characters or overrunning the building before the device is activated.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
- Equipment variety: Different scientific equipment in the building provides various abilities and is needed to activate the escape device.
- Mutant types: Different mutant types have different combat abilities and behaviors.
