Overview
Astérix et la Potion magique is a family adventure board game based on the Asterix comic series. Players traverse Europe as characters from the Asterix universe, searching for ingredients needed to brew the legendary magic potion. Players must collect all required ingredients in their cauldron and return to the Gaulish village to win.

- 1 Game board (map of Europe with the Gaulish village and various locations)
- Character figures (one per player representing Asterix characters)
- Gourds of magic potion (one per player)
- Event cards (green and blue)
- Ingredient tokens
- Cauldron cards/boards (one per player, showing needed ingredients)
- Dice
Setup
- Place the game board in the center.
- Each player chooses a character and takes the matching figure, gourd of magic potion, and cauldron card.
- Shuffle the event card decks.
- Place ingredient tokens at their corresponding town locations on the map.
- All players start in the Gaulish village.
Turn Structure
On each turn:
- Move: Move your character one space in any direction on the map.
- Resolve space effects:
- Roman Patrol (red space): Take a swig of magic potion from your gourd (limited supply).
- Green space: Draw a green event card and resolve its effect.
- Blue space: Draw a blue event card and resolve its effect.
- Town: Collect the ingredient available at that location if it is one you need.

The first player to collect all ingredients required for their cauldron and return to the Gaulish village wins the game.
Special Rules & Edge Cases
- Magic potion is limited: Each gourd has a finite supply. Running out makes Roman encounters more dangerous.
- Event cards: Some events may teleport you, grant shortcuts, force detours, or trigger encounters.
- Multiple players at same location: Players may occupy the same space without conflict.
- French-language game: Originally published in French, though some English-language editions or fan translations exist.
