Overview

Ants in the Pants is a simple dexterity game for young children. Players simultaneously try to flip their colored ant pieces into a pair of oversized pants standing in the center of the table. The first player to land all 4 of their ants inside the pants wins.

Components

Setup

  1. Assemble the pants: attach the front and back pieces, slide in the cardboard insert, and attach the two suspenders to the notches on the sides.
  2. Place the pants in the middle of the table.
  3. Each player chooses a color and takes all 4 ants of that color.
  4. Players position their ants on the table aimed toward the pants.

Turn Structure

There are no individual turns. All players play simultaneously after a countdown.

  1. When everyone is ready, players count down: “One, two, three, jump!”
  2. All players begin launching ants at the same time.

Actions

Launching Ants: Press down on the back of an ant with one finger. Slide your finger off quickly – the ant will spring into the air toward the pants. The faster you release, the higher and farther the ant jumps.

Players continue launching ants as fast as they can, picking up any that miss and trying again.

Scoring / Victory Conditions

The first player to get all 4 of their ants into the pants wins the game.
